Logistics & Summary

Logistics

The program will dedicate one day per week for three class sessions for a period of sixteen weeks. Participants will be tested at the beginning and the end of the sixteen weeks using standard personality and other tests that seem suitable. Meditation class will be in the morning, Ethics in the afternoon, and Restorative Justice in the evening. Class materials will include books, study guides, media and other supplementary handout and homework materials as needed. A volunteer sponsor(s) will be present at all class sessions.

Summary

Project Clear Light is committed to working with the TDCJ Chaplaincy Department, and other program partners, in the design and implementation of a Contemplative Practices Program to encourage and support personal, spiritual and social growth of participating offenders to allow them to better cope with the prison environment, and to maximize the successful reintegration of ex-offenders into the social community.
